Billy Blair Pritt

August 28, 1935 ~ February 13, 2018 (age 82)

Billy Blair Pritt, 82, of Monterey, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg.

He was born August 28, 1935 in a Bolar, a son of the late Thelma Pauline Pritt.

On July 2, 1977 he married Louise Maxine Colaw.

Billy was a member, trustee and former deacon of Victory Chapel Advent Christian Church, as well as a member of the Highland County Volunteer Fire Department with 42 years of service. A brick mason by trade, Billy not only worked as a self-employed contractor, but also with various contractors including Jerry Rexrode throughout the years. He enjoyed time spent working on cross stitch crafts, loved word search books, playing cards and putting puzzles together, most especially he enjoyed his daily visits and talks with people in the Monterey community.

He was preceded in death by his step-father, Charles Waybright Jr. and sister, Linda Lou Barnes.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children Debra C. Rexrode and husband, Gary of Crimora and J.D. Chestnut and wife, Dottie of Arbovale, W.Va.; grandchildren Dustin Wharton and wife, Jasmine of Glasgow and Andrea Rexrode of Crimora; three brothers, Charles Waybright and wife, Nancy of Roanoke, Gary Wayne Waybright and wife, Bonnie of Winchester, and Richard Waybright and wife, Tina of Monterey; as well as sister, Myra Lowry and husband, Allen of Mill Gap.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, February 16, 2018 at Obaugh Funeral Home with speakers Kenny Carroll and Carol Waybright officiating. Burial will follow in Hightown Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Additionally, Obaugh Funeral Home will receive those who wish to pay their respects until 8 p.m. Thursday, February 15, 2018.

Pallbearers will be Curtis Lowry, Elmer Waybright, Tommy Terry, Eugene Ratcliffe, Charles Rexrode, Jimmy Hiner and Steve Rawley.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Hightown Cemetery, c/o Bardon Warner, P.O. Box 34, Blue Grass, Va. or Victory Chapel Advent Christian Church, c/o Myra Lowry, 6617 Upper Back Creek Road, Monterey, Va.  24465.
