Charlotte “Dart” Beverage Swecker, 74, of Monterey, died Sunday, December 28, 2003 in Monterey. She was born August 16, 1929 near Monterey a daughter of the late Walter Ralph and Elizabeth Ryder Beverage.
On August 22, 1953, she married Dr. Ralph H. Swecker. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this summer.
Mrs. Swecker began her employment in October 1947 at First & Citizens Bank. She retired in September 1993, after 45 years of service. She was a member of the Monterey Presbyterian Church and the Highland Extension Homemakers. In 1947, she was the Princess in the Court of the Highland County Centennial Celebration and she once was an active member in the PTO.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Ralph Swecker of Monterey; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Cindy Swecker of Monterey and Timothy and Brenda Swecker of Churchville; four grandchildren, Jeremy, Christopher, Aaron and Elizabeth Swecker and three sisters, Margaret Kiely of Annapolis, Md., Mary Corbett of Clifton Forger and Kate Hiner of McDowell.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003 at the Monterey Cemetery by the Rev. C. William “Bill” Cox and the Rev. Richard S. Gibson.
There will be no public viewing.
Active pallbearers will be Garland Dever, Carlton Hull, John Reynolds, Bill Niswander, Vernon Wooddell and Kyle Almond.
Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.
