David Lambert Allen, 60, of the Mustoe Community of Highland County died, Wednesday, October 10, 2001 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.
He was born November 7, 1940 in Atlanta, Ga., the son of the late George and Dorothy (Lambert) Allen.
Mr. Allen was a self-employed photo journalist and a conservationist.
He was a coordinator of High Road to Highland. He nominated Highland County to Scenic America as a Last Chance Landscape.
He is survived by two daughters, Beth L. Allen and Dana A. Reed, both of Atlanta, Ga.; a companion, Pat Wilson of Mustoe; a sister, Jean A. Howell of Greenville, N.C.; and five grandchildren.
An outdoor memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Monday, October 15, 2001 at the farm of Mr. Allen by the Rev. Lester LaPrade. Casual dress is requested.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the cabin of John and Char Sweet, 9 miles south of Monterey.
