Katherine Eleanor Remington Kohrt died Thursday, November 8, 2001 at the age of 95 in Monterey.
Born on December 23, 1905, she was the daughter of Clarence A. and Eleanor Kohler Remington of Hibbing, Minnesota. She attended Hibbing schools and received a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Minnesota in 1928.
She married Charles Frederick Kohrt, also of Hibbing, on November 30, 1930 at Blessed Sacrament Church. The family relocated to Clearwater Beach, Fla. in 1952. There Mrs. Kohrt was a mother and homemaker. She participated in many civic activities.
At the time of her death, she was residing with her daughter and son-in-law, Katherine and Donald Ricketts, in Monterey.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; three sisters; and two brothers.
She is survived by four children and their spouses, Remington Charles and Sara Kohrt of Whitefish, Mont., Richard Keene and Cora Faye Kohrt of Wrangell, Alaska; Katherine Kohler and Donald Ricketts of Monterey; and Gretchen Eleanore and John Reese of savannah, Ga.; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a brother- and sister-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10 at the Shrine of the Sacred Heart in Hot Springs with the Rev. John McGinnity officiating.
Pallbearers were Remington Kohrt, Don Ricketts, Lon Ricketts, Bryan Kruger, Peter McGhee and Dr. Ronald Chio.
Altar servers were Christopher and Jonathan Kruger.
A memorial service and interment at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing, Minn. Will be held at a date to be determined.
