Virginia Lizzie Henton, 80, of Harrisonburg died Saturday, April 24, 2004, at the home of her son, Dennis White.
She was born May 14, 1923, in West Virginia, a daughter of the late Erias R. and Sarah K. Eckard Huffman.
Mrs. Henton retired from Celancese Corp. after 20 years of service and she had also worked at Rocco Poultry.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Homer Morgan Whitecotton and her second husband, Edward Myers Henton; a granddaughter, Marlene Whitecotton Darrah; four sisters, Meda Helmick, Sallie and Elsie Huffman and Lona Hamilton; two brothers, Jake and Calvin Huffman and a half brother, Ray Eckard.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Morgan D. and Lois H. Whitecotton and Dennis W. and Carolyn S. White, both of Harrisonburg; three grandchildren, Lisa Whitecotton Marcum, David Whitecotton and Shannon D. White; seven great-grandchildren and a step-son, Erenst Henton and his wife, Jean, of Harrisonburg.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2004, at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell by the Rev. Richard Gibson. Burial will be in the Smith Family Cemetery near Monterey.
