Carol Hupman

April 20, 1944 — June 2, 2021

Carol (Robinson) Hupman, 77, of Williamsville, passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at LewisGale Hospital Alleghany.

She was born April 20, 1944 in Bath County, a daughter of the late Edgar and Minnie (Ryder) Robinson.

A loving and devoted mother, as well as doting grandmother, Carol loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and Williamsville Presbyterian Church, where she was a member. She was an avid Raiders football fan, enjoyed her wordsearch books, Sunday rides, auction sales and never missed her soaps.  Above all, she will be remembered as the backbone of the family and one who never missed an opportunity to give those she cared about a “hard time.”

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Charles “Roger” Hupman; daughter, Vickie Lynn Hupman; and sister, Mary Edith Hupman.

She is survived by two daughters, Darlene Hill of Wytheville and Ruth Carter and husband, Andy of Goshen; one son, Rodger Lee Hupman and wife, Mary Ellen of Hot Springs; six grandchildren (who were her world), Joni Turner, Lori Deel and husband, Jamie, Dustin Hupman, Duncan Hupman, Lakkin Carter, and Skyler Hupman; four great-grandchildren, MacKenzie and Breanna Turner, Victoria Holt and Kaden Deel; as well as her beloved cat, Boo-Boo.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Williamsville Cemetery, c/o Robert Marshall, 13039 Tower Hill Road, Williamsville, Va. 24487 or to the Carol Hupman Memorial Fund, c/o Blue Grass Valley Bank, P.O. Box 516, Monterey, Va. 24465.
