Alan Dale Deel, 24, of Williamsville, died Friday, September 23, 1988 in Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
He was born December 9, 1963 in Staunton, a son of the late William Willis and Eydia Emma Bauer Deel. He was a member of the Williamsville Presbyterian Church, had served four years with the U.S. Marines as a lance corporal and was employed by the Augusta Correctional Center as a correction officer.
Survivors include his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Ethel Stephenson of Williamsville with whom he resided; a sister, Mrs. Barbara D. Mernin of Hot Springs; three brothers, William D. Deel of Hot Springs, Robert L. Deel and R.E. Stephen, both of Williamsville; and three nephews.
Services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Williamsville Presbyterian church by the Rev. DeLacy Young. Burial will be in the McClintic Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Robert Jr., Barry, Mark and Timmy Marshall, Steve Sharp, Joey Barnett, Bobby Keyser and Jim Stone.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. at Obaugh Funeral Home.
