Andrew W. Lockridge, 73, of McDowell, died Saturday morning, April 23, 1988 in the Veterans Hospital in Salem.
He was born February 9, 1915, in McDowell a son of Lucius H. and Minnie Sue (Terry) Lockridge.
Mr. Lockridge was a member of the Verona United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Sons of the American Revolution. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was retired from the American Safety Razor Company.
Surviving are his wife, Willie Virginia (Ryder) Lockridge of McDowell; two sisters. Ora Arbaught of Staunton and lucy Livick of North Canton, Ohio; two step-daughters, Betty Cook and Sandra Meade, both of Verona; four step-children by a former marriage, David and Frankie Flesher, both of Zion, Ill, John Flesher of Churchville and Betty Bottenfield of Churchville; a number of step-grandchildren. nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Edward Pruitt. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens in Staunton.
Active pallbearers will be Fred Lotts, Eddie Webb, Glen Brown, John B. Flesher, Doug McGuffin and John Sheets.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ernest Terry, Clem McLaughlin, Theodore Pullin, Joe Wine, Earl Wiseman, Randolph Pitsenbarger, Oakley Arney, Wayne Hiner, William Rexrode, Andy Stephenson, and Robert Baldwin.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Monterey, Va. 24465.
