Anna Elizabeth Hoover, 88. of Doe Hill passed away Thursday, August 24, 1989 at Camelot Hall Nursing Home where she had been a guest for nine years.

She was born February 6, 1901 at Pendleton County, WV, a daughter of James Moats.

She was a member of and Sunday school teacher at St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Her husband, Henry Albert Hoover, died October 9, 1972.

Survivors include three daughters, Martha Simmons of Churchville, Alberta Moran of Staunton and Lorrine Mitchell of Pennsylvania; son, Delbert Hoover of Dayton; sister, Lucy Varner of California; half-sister, Gannie Starcher of Charleston, WV; foster sister, Leafy Wimer of Moyers, WV; three half-brothers, French of Doe Hill, Frank of Dayton and Robert Moats of Woodbridge; 20 grandchildren;  and a number of great- and great-great-grandchildren.

A service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Revs. Norman Nilsen and Earl Hammer with burial in St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Robert, Dick, Delbert, and Gary Armstrong, Sonny Lee Pitsenbarger and Dyer Moyers.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home in McDowell.
