STAUNTON, VA Annie Fay Helmick, 78, of Staunton and formerly of Monterey, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Envoy of Staunton. She was born September 4, 1937 in Monterey a daughter of the late Jesse Franklin and Bessie Mae (Harris) Tidd. Mrs. Helmick attended the Church of God and was a past member of Stonewall Ruritan Club. She had worked at both Aileen and Jessico. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Scott Helmick; her daughter, Ocie Fay Tidd Hise; two sons, Roy "Scott" Helmick and Steve Allen Helmick; three sisters, Nellie Wagner, Carrie Hevener and Jessie Gray Dever and her brother, Aubrey Tidd. She is survived by her granddaughter, Candy H. Lowry of Millboro; two great-granddaughters, Destynie and Stefani Lowry; and a number of nieces and nephews, including her devoted nephew and caregiver, Ronald Helmick, Sr. A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m., Friday, March 18, 2016 at Obaugh Funeral Home with the Rev. Beth Pyles officiating. Burial will follow in Propst-Helmick Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Roger Simmons, Roger Simmons, Jr., Herbert Lightner, Charles Varner, Brent Obaugh, Glenn Halterman, Travis Halterman, Roger Arbogast and Cliff Vandevander. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday at Obaugh Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lions Club, c/o Randy Richardson, P.O.
