Annie Marie Wolf, age 88, of Madison Heights, peacefully went to be with Jesus on Friday, March 13th, 2026 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.
She born September 5, 1937 in Deerfield, the eldest daughter of the late George Dewey and Fannie Cletus (Helmick) Wolfe. Annie was raised in Mustoe, where she attended Pinegrove school and attended Monterey High School.
A lifelong caregiver, Annie began her vocation as a teenager, providing care to neighbors in the Mustoe community of Highland County. Ultimately, Annie provided the majority of her care toward helping others in the Lynchburg and Madison Heights areas.
A devout Christian, Annie attended the former Hamilton Chapel Advent Church and Victory Chapel Advent Christian Church in Mustoe. Additionally, she sang in the choir at North Baptist Church in Madison Heights.
A person who appreciated all of God's creations, Annie especially enjoyed gardening and flowers.
She will be remembered as a woman who truly loved her Lord, family, and little children, a sentiment which was always characterized by her favorite catchphrases - "I love everyone except the devil", and "if the Lord's willing."
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Russell, Elsie Lee, Homer, Ray, Cecil, Ernest, and infant, Roger.
She is survived by two sisters, Charlotte Lowry of Hot Springs, and Helen Higgins and husband, Claude of Delaware, Ohio; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as her loving caregivers, Janet Saunders and daughter, Jessica of Madison Heights.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at Asbury United Methodist Church, Monterey, with Pastor Chip Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashbury Cemetery.
A special and heartfelt thanks to the Saunders family who were an answer to the family’s prayers and did an excellent job taking care of Marie over the past ten years.
