Barbara Lambert

January 22, 1943 — September 2, 2010

Barbara A. Lambert, 67, of Burnsville, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2010 at her home.  She was born January 22, 1943 at Riverdale, MD a daughter of the late Thomas and Virginia (Hertig) Garrettson.

Mrs. Lambert was a homemaker, a farmer and a member of the Burnsville United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years.  She was an avid bowler and a member of Alleghany/Bath Bowling League sanctioned by USBC.

She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth E. Lambert and a sister, Gloria Ratliff.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel D. Lambert whom she married September 15, 1962; two sons, Daniel D. Lambert, Jr. and wife, Melissa of Silver Springs, MD and Jesse P. Lambert and companion, Lynne Tanguay of Burnsville; two grandsons, Justin and Joshua Lambert of Silver Springs, MD; a sister, Virginia Grubb of Longview, WA; two brothers, Thomas Garrettson of Key Largo, FL and Allen Garrettson of Adelphi, MD; four sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Houlihan of Dayton, Cleta Schesinger of Baltimore, MD, Julia Lambert of Laurel, MD and Jean Lambert of Hartwood; a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m., Monday, September 6, 2010 at Burnsville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Byong Ahn officiating.

Burial will be in Burnsville Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be, Jesse Lambert, Justin and Joshua Lambert, Richie Roberts, Charlie Alexander and Dempsie Hevener.  Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

There will be a reception at the church, following the committal service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Burnsville United Methodist Church, c/oJoyce Hevener, and 9422 Dry Run Rd, Burnsville, VA 24487.
