Barbara W. Stephenson

Barbara W. Stephenson, 67, of Flint, MI, died Monday, November 8, 1993 at her home.

She was born June 15, 1926 at Vanderpool, Va. and was a daughter of John H. and Mary Hevener Stephenson.

Miss Stephenson received her education at Montreat College, Winthrop College and Appalachian State College. She taught junior high school for a short time and finished her education as a guidance counselor. While at Appalachian State College, she served as Dean of Women. In 1955, she went to Flint Junior College, where she worked until she became ill in 1989.

She served in many capacities in the department of counseling and guidance including director of the department prior to her retirement in 1990.

She is survived by a sister, Louisa S. Barry of Chapel Hill, NC.

A memorial service will be held in Flint and a graveside service will be held in Monterey Cemetery at 11 a.m. Monday morning by the Rev. C. William Cox.
