Bernice Walker

Bernice Taylor Walker, 89, of Monterey, and formerly of Mechanicsville, died Wednesday, December 24, 2003, at the Springs Nursing Center.

Mrs. Walker was born August 21, 1914, in Richmond, and was a daughter of the late Aubrey S. and Ida Gwin Taylor.

She was a homemaker.

Her husband, James Henry Walker, preceded her in death December 14, 1981.

She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Cauley of Monterey and Beverly Crisp of Aylett; a sister, Grace Newland of Hesperia, Ca.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Donald E. Rose will conduct a graveside service 2 p.m. Monday at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Richmond.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Obaugh Funeral Home.
