Billy Ephriam Bennett 46, of McDowell, died Saturday afternoon, October 24, 1987 while cutting wood near his home.
He was born March 2, 1941 at Cherry Grave, W.Va., a son of Ephriam Vandevander of McDowell and Joy Bennett Vandevander.
He was employed by Taylor-Ramsey Lumber Co. in McDowell.
On September 5,1981, he married Nora Lee (Helmick) Frampton.
In addition to his widow and father, he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Betty Puffenbarger of Swoope and Mrs.Patsy Armstrong of McDowell; three brothers, Roger of Churchville, Robert of Monterey and Carlston Vandevander of Swoope; two step-daughters, Ethel Lee Frampton of Head Waters and Rebecca Trimmer of Fredericksburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday at Obaugh Funeral Home by brother Walter Sutherland. Burial will be be in McKendree Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Gallan Malcolm, Charles Owens, G.E. Redifier, Wayne Wilfong, Hilrey Heckler, Wilmer Smith, Richard Hinkle and Ralph Gutshall.
The family will receive friends from 7:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home in McDowell.
