Carrie Myrtle Doyle, 87, of Hot Springs died Friday (May 3, 1991) at Bath County Community Hospital after an extended illness.

She was born July 17, 1903 in Highland County, a daughter of Jospeh Wilson and Margaret Della Frances (Armstong) Carpenter.

She was a lifelong member of Valley Church of the Brethren, Bolar.

On Dec. 29, 1926 she was married to Orvie Mustoe Doyle who died July 15,1956.

She is survived by two daughters, Myrtle F. Bussard of Bacova and Allene L. Campbell of Waynesboro; two sons Arnold B. SR. of Waynesboro and Wendell H. Doyle of Hot Springs; a brother Herman M. Carpenter of Bolar; a sister, Hazel B. Reynolds of Burnsville; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A service was conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev, James Hobbs, with burial at Valley Bethel Cemetery near Bolar.

Pallbearers were Ward and Dale Bussard, William J. Robertson, Tommy and Lowell Terry and Ronnie Carpenter.
