Catherine "Katie" Marie Swecker

Catherine "Katie" Marie Swecker, age 84, of Waynesboro, died Monday morning, September 3, 1990 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.

She was born June 9, 1906 at Smithton, PA, a daughter of the late Jacob and Julia Ann (Lipp) Schneider. She was a member of Crabbottom Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Martha (Swecker) and Aubrey Hiner of Waynesboro, with whom she had lived; a granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Diana and Kenneth E. Fisher  of Waynesboro; two great-grandchildren, Kasey Elizabeth and Cyrus Daniel Fisher of Waynesboro; a sister, Annie Ashmore of Claysville, PA; and a brother, Jacob Schneider of Gibsonia.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Cyrus Hiner; a sister, Dora Besser and two brothers, Raymond and Thomas Schneider.

A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday at Obaugh Funeral Home by Dr. Fred Holbrook and the Rev. C. William Cox.

Burial will follow in Blue Grass Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Robert, Buddy, Ralph, David, Gary and George Swecker, David Kiser and John Wagner.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7-8 at the funeral home.
