Cathy Neil

Cathy H. Neil, 55, of Staunton, passed away Monday, February 4, 2013 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. She was born August 24, 1957 in Harrisonburg, a daughter of the late Betty Louise (Harper) Simmons. Cathy was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandsons. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Marshall S. Neil; two sons and daughter-in-law, Everett and Ali Neil and Stephen Neil, all of Staunton; two special grandsons, Aaron and Nathan Neil; aunt, Irene Blizzard of Franklin, WV; cousin, Diann Blizzard of Franklin, WV; sister-in-law, Shirley Miller of Staunton; brother-in-law, Melvin Neil and wife, Kelly of Starke, FL and a special friend, Norma Gibbons of Staunton. A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m., Friday, February 8, 2013 in The Fleisher Cemetery with the Pastor Chalmer "Chuck" Morgan officiating. Pallbearers will be Jason Armarode, Buddy McWilliams, Devoe Gibbons, Scott McCurdy, Gideon Hiner and Andy Botkin. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell.
