Charles “Duke” Eugene Rexrode, 62, of Staunton passed away Friday, April 17, 2020 in Swoope.

Duke began his working career building bridges with his father. He then spent many years working in construction before starting work for the City of Harrisonburg. He has spent the last 14 years as a building inspector, where he had a close knit relationship with the contractors.

He enjoyed farming and cutting wood with his brother-in-law, Scotty. Duke took pride in being the “favorite uncle” to his special nieces and nephews. He was someone they could always look up to and know he was always there to give a helping hand. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father and loyal friend.
