Christian Kodger

August 26, 1948 — March 29, 2012

Christian C. Kodger, 63, of 4740 Potomac River Road, Monterey, crossed from this life into his eternal home on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Augusta Medical Center.

He was born Aug. 26, 1948 in New London Naval Base, Conn., a son of the late Herbert Kodger of West Augusta.

He was a faithful member of Blue Grass United Methodist Church. He was a construction inspector for the Bath County Pumped Storage Station, several nuclear power projects in Maine, Ohio and Virginia, and the Memorial Bridge in Washington D.C., and was later employed at Gutshall’s Exxon in Monterey.

He is survived by his mother, Lorraine Kodger; brother, Raymond Kodger of West Augusta; and brother and sister-inlaw, Lester and Lisa Kodger of Monterey; nieces Melissa Kodger of Norfolk and Sarah McCarty of McDowell; nephews Abram Kodger of Arlington, and Adam Kodger of Lexington; a number of cousins; and his faithful companion, Sweetie.

A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. at Blue Grass United Methodist Church, Saturday, on March 31, with the Rev. Andre Crummett officiating.

The family asks that memorial donations in his name may be made to the Highland County Volunteer Rescue Squad, Monterey, in lieu of flowers.
