Cornelia Brown Clark, 84, of Staunton, formerly of Mountain Grove, died Thursday night, December 10, 1987 at Liberty House Nursing Home in Clifton Forge.
She was born Sept. 21, 1903 at Millboro, a daughter of Merritt Scott and Minnie Venable Brinkley.
She was a member of Mountain Grove Presbyterian Church. She was a Bath County school teacher for two years prior to her marriage and resumed teaching in 1949, leaving in 1957.
Twiced married, her first husband, Walter Lawson Sively, preceded her in death. Her second husband, Ralph R Clark, Sr., died in February 1961.
Surviving are twin daughters, Mrs. Joy Chestnut and Mrs. June Puffenbarger, both of Staunton; three sisters, Mrs. Lillie Row of Newport, Mrs. Daisy Deeds of Millboro and Mrs. Mary Durham of Liberty House Nursing Home in Clifton Forge; one brother, Merritt Brinkley of Clifton Forge; two stepsons, Jimmy and Sonny Clark, both o fMillboro; and five grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren and eight step-grandchildren.
A service was conducted 2 p.m. Sunday in Woodland Church near Millboro Springs by the Rev. Alan Irwin, with burial in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Sam Coyner, Henry and Edgar Brinkley, Scott and Kent Rose and Carl Chestnut.
Honorary pallbearers were friends and neighbors attending the service.
