Delma Keith Hooke, 79, of Deerfield died Thursday evening, February 9, 1989 at the Veterans Hospital in Salem.
He was born January 19, 1910 in West Virginia, a son of George Wickline and Anna Belle (Hoover) Hooke.
His wife, Bertha (Rexrode) Hooke, died June 15, 1971. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Hooke; and sister, Lucille Basham.
He was a member of McDowell Presbyterian Church, a retired farmer and a veteran of World War II.
Surviving are two step-daughters, Mrs. Joanna Graham and Mrs. Peggy Ruleman, both of Deerfield; a step-son, Ralph Bradshaw of Verona; three sisters, Virginia Hooke of Franklin, WV, Mrs. Mary Catherine Crummett of Blue Grass, and Dorothy Garrett of Baytown, TX; three brothers, George W. Jr., and Adolphe E., both of Monterey, and Robert Hooke of Hightown; nine step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
A service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Douglas Brandt, with burial in Rocky Springs Cemetery near Deerfield.
Pallbearers will be nephews, Robert, Jerry, Randy, Edward and George W. Hooke III, Andre Crummett and Walter Basham.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles and Thomas Kelly, Alfred Graham, John Ramsey, John Burgandine Jr. and Van Simmins Jr.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service a the funeral home and at other times at the residence.
