HOT SPRINGS, VA Dorothy Marie Ratcliff, 75, of Hot Springs, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2015 at her home. She was born July 6, 1939 in Bath County a daughter of the late Joseph Lee and Mary Alphia (Jackson) Hodge. Mrs. Ratcliff graduated from Valley High School in 1958 and had been a dispatcher for the Bath County Sheriff's Office. She was a member of Ashwood United Methodist Church and a past financial secretary at the church. She will be remembered as one who enjoyed time spent with friends and overall she simply enjoyed life. On April 27, 1963, she married Kyle Kenton Ratcliff, who preceded her in death on April 8, 2012. Surviving family members include her sister, Mary Lindsay and husband, Jim of Warm Springs; foster brother, Kenneth Robertson of Warm Springs; two nieces, Mary Lou Ford and husband, David of Roanoke and Stacy Edwards of Warm Springs; and her nephew, David Lindsay and wife, Renea of Hot Springs. Also surviving are four great-nephews, Samuel Ford and wife, Claire of Bealeton, Joseph Edwards of Dahlgren, Justin Lindsay of Hot Springs and Alex Lindsay of Hot Springs; three great-nieces, Carlee Ford Jang and husband, Moonkyu of South Korea, Sarah Edwards of New York and Marianna Ford Nice and husband, Daniel of Toano; great-great-nephew, Sammy Ford; great-great-niece, June Ford; special friend, Joyce Woodson; caregiver, Debbie Rodgers and her beloved pet, Rufus. A memorial service will be conducted 3 p.m., Sunday, June 21, 2015 at Ashwood United Methodist Church with Rev. David V. Ford and Pastor Vivian Utz officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Jacob Cleek Cemetery, c/o John A.
