Dwight Herman McAllister, 70, of Staunton, died at 12:05 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 1988 in the Waynesboro Community Hospital.

He ws born on June 9, 1917, a son of David herman and Janie (Myers) McAllister.

Prior to retiring, Mr. McAllister was manager of the processing division of Augusta Frozen Foods Co-Operative, Inc.

He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and the Men's Brotherhood. He was also a member of the A.A.R.P., Chapter No. 1650 and the Happy Travelers Club.

Survivors include his wife, Mabel Obaugh McAllister; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William C. (Evelyn McAllister) Campbell of Staunton and mr. and Mrs. Silvio A. (Sharon McAllister) Zaccaria of Mt. Sidney; two brothers, Russell M. McAllister and G. Everette McAllister, both of Verona; three grandchildren, Kristina Annette and Domenic Alan Zaccaria, Cynthia Annette Cummings, also, her husband, Jon Cummings; and a number of nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Ruby Hanger.

A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in St. Paul's United Methodist Church by the Rev. Albert J. Schrader. Burial will be in Thornrose Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Fred Craig, Sylvester Kite, Jay Mader, Melcin Beverage, Forrest Ashby, Hollis Cook, Robert Wenger, and David McAllisters.
