Edith Virginia Swecker

Edith Virginia Swecker, age 56, of Blue Grass, passed away Thursday morning, June 28, 1990 at her home.

She was born May 25, 1934 at Blue Grass, a daughter of John Meade Swecker Jr. and Gladys Mae (Mullenax) Swecker.

She was a member of Crabbottom Presbyterian Church and had been employed by Aileen Garment Co. in Monterey for 17 years and for Highland Data Services in Blue Grass for seven years.

On Feb. 26, 1956 she married B.T. Swecker Jr., who survives.

In addition to her mother and husband, surviving are a daughter, Beverly Lynn Eye of Harrisonburg; two sisters, Mrs. Robert D. Swecker of Richmond and Mrs. Gerald Blank of Harrisonburg; three brothers, John M. Jr. of Blue Grass, Richard C. of Staunton and Harry T. Swecker of Mint Spring; and two grandchildren.

A service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell by the Revs. C. William Cox and Richard Gibson, with burial in Blue Grass Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Herman Puffenbarger, Michael and Mark Arbogast, Mark and Tim Swecker, Carl Hull, Robert Marshall Jr. and Bardon Warner.

Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
