Edward Wayland Ratcliff, 90, died Wednesday (May 15, 1991) at the home of his daughter Romane Ratcliff.
He was born Jan. 20, 1901 at Mustoe, a son of John and Dora Ryder Ratcliff.
He was a member of the Victory Chapel Advent Christian Church. His first wife Edith (McLaughlin) Ratcliff preceded him in death July 24, 1949. His second wife, Hattie (Harvey) Ratcliff died Nov. 24, 1988.
Mr. Ratcliff was preceded in death by a step daughter, Pauline Pritt Waybright on June 28, 1966 and a son, Roy J. Davis Ratcliff in WW II in 1945.
In addition to his daughter, survivors include two sons, Mack E. of Monterey, and Kyle K. Ratcliff of Hot Springs; a step son Loy C. Harvey of Monterey; a step daughter, Norma Gay Johnson of Harrisonburg; a sister, Edna Simmons of Mustoe and Crawford Ratcliff of Charleston, W. Va.; and three grandchildren, four great- grandchildren, 15 step grandchildren, 14 step great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A service was conducted 2 p.m. Saturday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Revs. Ivan Young and Jerry Ginn. Burial will be in the McLaughlin Cemetery near Mustoe.
Pallbearers were Richard Waybright, Johnnie and Hubert and Charlie Simmons, James Varner and Jim Lindsey.
