Ella L. Brown

Ella L. (McKenzie) Brown, 80, formerly of Monterey and Staunton, died Thursday, October 24, 1991 in Oaklea Nursing Home in Harrisonburg.

She was born November 10, 1910 in Chester County, Tenn., a daughter of John Angus and Lou Della (Carter) McKenzie. 

She was a member of the Church of Christ and attended Victory Chapel Advent Christian Church.

She married Robert B. Brown August 19, 1949. He preceded her in death February 12, 1974.

Survivors include a daughter, Bobbie Jean Griffin of Mustoe; one sister, Jewell Malone of Finger, Tenn.; two brothers, John and Charles McKenzie, both of Memphis, Tenn.; two granddaughters, Shelby Lynn Griffin and Sheryl Leigh Griffin, both of Mustoe; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday at Obaugh Funeral in McDowell by Mike Puffenbarger and the Rev. Jerry Ginn. Burial will be in Thornrose Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be E.W. Cox Jr., Maitlin Hull, James Varner, Douglas Stuart, Jack Warner, Billy Pritt and John M. Swecker Jr.
