Elsie Hull

DOE HILL, VA Elsie Mae Hull, 94, of Doe Hill, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013 at The Springs Nursing Center. She was born August 12, 1918 in Vanderpool a daughter of the late Henry Jackson and Julia (Crouse) Harris. Mrs. Hull was a loving wife, mother and homemaker, who had a generous and giving nature. She was a member of Doe Hill United Methodist Church and known to always lend a helping hand to those in need, whether be a friend or stranger. On June 5, 1937, she married Meredith Ilo Hull, who preceded her in death on March 27, 1988. She was also predeceased by her great-grandson, Logan Stuber; brother, Harding Harris and son-in-law, Cleveland (Clink) Smith. She is survived by four daughters and two sons-in-law, Doris Ann Smith of Doe Hill, Meredith A. Colaw of The Springs Nursing Center, Darlene Mae and Junior Harold of Doe Hill and Leta Grey and Larry Norfleet of Warm Springs; her son and daughter-in-law, Noel Ilo and Doris Marie Hull of Doe Hill; thirteen grandchildren; twenty three great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Daisy Curry of Churchville and Leta Carper of Staunton and her brother, June Harris and wife, Virginia of Staunton. A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell with the Rev. Dave Boger officiating. Burial will follow in Doe Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Tom Hull, Juny Hull, Danny Smith, Tim Harold, Larry Norflett, Danny Crider and Johnny Gwin. Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.
