Elvert Harvey Puffenbarger, 85, of Headwaters died on Wednesday evening, November 25th, 1992 at King’s Daughters’ Hospital.
He was born on February 11th, 1907 in Sugar Grove, W. Va., a son of John Frank and Annie (Moats) Puffenbarger.
His wife, Bessie Jane (Huffman) Puffenbarger, died on August 14th, 1976.
He was a member of Hiner Church of the Brethren and was retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation in Highland County after 35 years of employment.
He is survived by three daughters, Jenny Moats and Glenna Kirkpatrick, both of McDowell, and Bonnie Pitsenbarger of Baltimore, Md.; two sons, Elvert Howard of Brandywine, W.Va. and Archie Puffenbarger of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-greandchildren.
A service will be conducted at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Lester LaPrade, with burial at Totten Chaple Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Louie Smith, Jerry Hoover, Roger Botkin, Worthie Pitsenbarger, and Charles and Lennie Polley.
