Ethel Stephenson

November 13, 1908 — October 27, 2004

Ethel McElwain Stephenson, 95, of Verona and formerly of Williamsville, died Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at Kings Daughters Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born November 13, 1908 at Halo, W.Va., a daughter of the late William Dixon and Cora Lee Pullen McElwain.

Mrs. Stephenson was a homemaker. She was a member of the Williamsville Presbyterian Church.

Her first husband, Ernest Deel; her second husband, Harry Stephenson; a son, William Deel; a daughter, Wavalene Botkin; three grandsons, Dale and Bobby Deel and Harry Botkin, Jr. and ten half-brothers and half-sisters preceded her in death.

She is survived by a son, James Deel of Warm Springs; nine grandchildren, William “Billy” Deel, Barbara Mernin, R.E. Stephenson, Elizabeth Harvey, Diana Arel, Shirley Matheny, Ernest Deel, Lee Botkin and Jean Helmick, with whom she made her home, and a number of great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 30, 2004 in the McClintic Cemetery by the Rev. Garland Humphries and the Rev. Mark Stanley.
