Gladys Armstrong

Gladys “Fay” Armstrong, 70, of Deerfield, died Saturday, June 15, 2002 at Alleghany Regional Hospital.

She was born May 29, 1932 at McDowell, a daughter of George Marvin Botkin of Waynesboro and the late Mary Botkin Zapp.

Mrs. Armstrong was a homemaker. She attended Williamsville Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis B. “Petey” Armstrong Jr. of Deerfield; two brothers, Clarence “Frosty” Botkin of Fort Worth, Texas and Clyde Botkin of McDowell; a sister and brother-in-law, Bernadine and Harold Wimer of Staunton; a special friend, Helen Hutton of Covington; a special niece, Sandy Peters of Verona and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, June 17 in the McKendree Cemetery by Laurence J. Brunson.
