FRANKLIN, WV Gladys Viola Mullenax, 87, of Franklin, WV passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Pendleton Manor. She was born September 22, 1926 at Blue Grass a daughter of the late Albert Luther and Eliza (Fleisher) Puffenbarger. Mrs. Mullenax was a homemaker, graduate of Blue Grass High School, and member of the former Union Chapel United Methodist Church. Additionally, she enjoyed her crochet work and time spent listening to bluegrass gospel music. She is survived by her husband, Luther "Leo" Mullenax, whom she married on August 28, 1948; daughter, Viola Jean "Jeanie" Riggleman and husband, Glenn; son, William K. "Bill" Mullenax; grandson, whom she helped to rear, Eric W. Mullenax, all of Franklin, WV; brother, Dale Puffenbarger of Forks of the Water and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Mullenax was preceded in death by her brother, Harry L. Puffenbarger and three sisters, Margaret Newlen, Ina Wimer and Lillian Puffenbarger. A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Wayside Baptist Church with the Pastor D.W. Feaster and Rev. Andre Crummett officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Grass Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m., Friday at Wayside Baptist Church. Friends may also pay their respects throughout the day on Friday.
