Hattie Lovegrove

February 21, 1928 — May 29, 2018

Hattie Hiner Lovegrove, 90, died May 29 at Pendleton Manor in Franklin, WV.  Hattie was born on February 21, 1928, in Bolar, VA and was the daughter of the late Forest Taylor and Mary Susan (Waggy) Hiner.  She was the wife of George E. Lovegrove, with whom she shared 60 years of marriage prior to his death in 2007.  Hattie and George lived for 50 years in Franklin, WV where they raised their three children.

Hattie was known to all by her generous heart and beautiful smile.  Her faith was strong, and she enjoyed nothing more than time with her family.  She will be dearly missed, but she leaves us all with wonderful memories and a true example of a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her children, Janice Lovegrove and husband, Tom Ulrich of Bethlehem, PA, George Lovegrove, MD and wife, Amy of Cornelius, NC, and Susan Geise and husband, Russell of Allentown, PA; a brother James “Jimmy” Hiner and wife, Jean of Monterey, VA; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.  She was looking forward to the births of two additional great-grandchildren this summer.

In addition to the aforementioned, Mrs. Lovegrove was preceded in death by three sisters, Hilda Palkot, Helen LeSeur, and Hallie Harris, as well as brother, Harvey Hiner.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Hamilton Chapel Advent Christian Church in Bolar, VA., with the family officiating.  A private committal service will precede in Hamilton Chapel Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to Pendleton Manor, P.O. Box 700, Franklin, W.Va. 26807 or the Franklin Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 727, Franklin, W.Va. 26807.
