Hattie Elizabeth Ratcliffe, 77, of Monterey died Friday evening, November 4, 1988 at her home.
She was born October 30, 1911 in West Virginia, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oakie Harvey.
She was a member of Highland Seventh-Day Adventist church and the Women's Home and Foreign Mission Society of Victory Chapel Church.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Wayland Ratcliffe of Monterey; daughter, Mrs. Norma Gay Johnson of Harrisonburg; step-daughter, Romane Ratcliffe of Monterey; son, Loy C. Harvey of Monterey; two step sons, Mack Edward of Monterey and Kyle K. Ratcliffe of Hot Springs; nine grandchildren; five step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.
A service will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the rev. Jerry Ginn, with burial in McLaughlin Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Phillips, Mike and Danny Cain, Wayne Mallow, Keith Simmons, James Varner, Billy Pritt and Gerald Ratcliffe.
Honorary pallbearers will be Arthur Cain, Nick Beverage, Johnny Ratcliffe, Dale Johnson, Donnie Carpenter, Charley Simmons, Dr. T.E. Billingsley, Jack Herold, Eugen and Allen Ratcliffe, Ivan Lantz, Glenn Hammer and Ernest Terry.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home in McDowell.
