Herbert Leo Pitsenbarger

Herbert Leo Pitsenbarger, 62, of Monterey, died Wednesday morning, February 16, 1994 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.

He was born February 28, 1931 at Hightown, a son of Lester and Alice (Moyers) Pitsenbarger.

On April 11, 1952 he married Ina Warner.

He was a member of Hightown United Methodist Church and had donated many years toward community service through the Chamber of Commerce and the Highland County Fair Association.

In addition to his wife of Monterey, survivors include a daughter, Cathy P. Ord, of Franklin, WV; four sons, Jim of Blue Grass, Steve of Monterey, Mike of Richmond and Tom Pitsenbarger of Monterey; two sisters, Erma Butterfuss of Kersey, Pa. and Martha Caparell of Temple Hill, Md.; two brothers, Everett of Verona and Paul Pitsenbarger of Maynardsville, Tenn.; and three granddaughters, Alisha and Malorie Pitsenbarger of Monterey and Jenna Pittsenbarger of Richmond.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Stephen Adam Pitsenbarger; a sister, Mary Florence Pitsenbarger; and a brother, Berlie Eugene Pitsenbarger.

A service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Jerry Ginn. Burial will be in the Hightown Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Norman Bayne, Michael Pitsenbarger, Herman Puffenbarger, Ernie Lightner Jr., Bardon Warner, Herbert Lightner.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this evening at the funeral home.
