Herbert " Frankie" Franklin Rexrode, age 76, of Warm Springs, passed away at his home on Saturday, May 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, and devotion to those he cherished most.

He was born June 25, 1949 in Highland County, a son of the late Herbert Floyd Rexrode and Helen “Hilda” Harris.

On June 2, 1969, he married Ella Mae Ryder, who survives. Frankie was employed by The Homestead, VEPCO, Robertson Landscaping, Trimble Construction, and Burns Excavating.

A family man through and through, Frankie’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his loved ones, always offering a helping hand, a listening ear, and unwavering support. He had a big heart that touched everyone who knew him, and his generosity and compassion will be remembered for years to come.

He found happiness in the simple things he loved most. Frankie enjoyed hunting, fishing, and simply time spent outdoors, where he was able to appreciate nature and the peace it brought him. He also took great pride in mowing grass and keeping his yard looking its best, finding satisfaction in a job well done. Whether working outside or gathering with family, he embraced life with dedication and care. Additionally, he loved to watch NASCAR races, NFL football, basketball, and New York Yankees games.

Those who knew Frankie will remember his warm spirit, his strong work ethic, and the love he showed to his family and friends every day. His presence brought comfort and joy to many, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.

Frankie leaves behind a loving family and many friends who will miss him dearly. Though he is no longer with us, the lessons he taught, the love he shared, and the memories he created will remain forever.

“A life well lived leaves a lasting legacy in the hearts of those left behind” -may he rest in peace.
