Howard "Buck" Carroll

Howard E. “Buck” Carroll, 69, of Staunton, died Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at Augusta Medical Center.

He was born November 27, 1935 at Mill Gap a son of the late Joncey Howard and Vergie Mae Fleisher Carroll.

Mr. Carroll was a former member of Green Hull United Methodist Church. He was a retired farmer and logger.

On February 16, 1955, he married Cora Lee Moyers, who survives. He is also survived by a son, Lenny Carroll and his wife, Gail, of Great Falls, MT; two daughters, Yonne Rowe and her husband, George of Stuanton and Marcia Carrol and companion Kevin Almarode of Staunton; five grandchildren, Kayla and Dylan Rakes, Brandy Forbes and her husband, Robert; Mandy and Jonathan Carroll; a great-grandson Bobbie Forbes; two sisters, Claudia Kearns of Florida and Wanda Wilkerson of West Virginia and three special friends, Curtis Smith, R.C. Moyers and Dickie Harris.

The Rev. Mike Sullivan will conduct a graveside service at 11 a.m., Friday, September 23, 2005 in Green Hill Cemetery near Mill Gap.

Active pallbearers will be George Rowe, Kevin Almarode, Curtis Smith, Dickie and Josh Harris and Jeff Moyers.

There will be no formal visitation. Friends may call at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell.
