Howard “Buddy” Brown Cronk, Jr., 66, of Burnsville passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Augusta Health. He was born December 2, 1949 in Clifton Forge a son of the late Howard Brown and Mary Alene (Powers) Cronk.
Buddy was a firefighter, who retired after 20 plus years of service with the Fairfax County Fire Department. An avid hunter and outdoorsman, Buddy enjoyed all wildlife. He was past president and honorary member of Big Springs Hunt Club. A lifetime member of the NRA, a member of the Millboro Masonic Lodge No. 28 AF & AM and Burnsville United Methodist Church.
Surviving family members include his daughter, Sarah Anderson of Fort Mill, SC; his son, Travis Cronk of Cornelius, NC; two sisters, Norma Bixby and Mary Jane Yeager, both of Waynesboro and best friend, Chris Sprouse of Craigsville.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Sams.
A memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m., Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell with the Pastor Lorrie Aikens officiating. Masonic Rites will be by Millboro Lodge No.28 AF & AM.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
