Hubert Wilson Mitchell, age 70, of Sugar Grove died Sunday evening, April 3, 1988 at the Veterans Hospital in RIchmond, Vv.a
He was born February 15, 1918 at Sugar Grove, a son of James Harvey and Nadie (Wilfong) Mitchell.
On January 13, 1947 he married Alma Hicks of Sugar Grove, who survives.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, a retired farmer, and had worked for the West Virginia Highway Department for a number of years. He retired from Walker Manufacturing Co. in Harrisonburg. He was a veteran of the Army and was a member of VFW Post 9666, Sugar Grove.
Besides his widow, survivors include a daughter, Deanna G. Bolton of Mt. Crawford, Va.; two sons, Randall G. of Richmond, Va. and George Mitchell of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and two brothers, Paul of Dayton,, Va, and Curtis Mitchell of Woodbridge, Va.
A service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday at Obaugh Funeral Home, McDowell, Va. by the Revs. David Lee and Dan Turner, with burial in Sugar Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tommy and Donald Mitchell, Thurman Puffenbarger, Reid Homan, Oscar Eckard, and Deyerle Rexrode and Junior Homan.
Honorary pallbearers will be friends tending the service.
The family will receive friend one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Glen Allen, Va. 23060.
