Ira Moats

Ira Moats, 92, of Moyers died Monday evening, Dec. 7, 1987 at his home. 

He was born July 26, 1896 at Blue Grass, Va., a son of Charles A. and Martha J. Simmons Moats. 

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and was a retired farmer. He was a veteran of World War I. 

His wife, Mary Raines Moats, died June 28, 1987. 

Survivors include a son, Clarence A. Moats, of Moyers; and a niece . 

A service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Norman N. Nilsen, with burial in St Paul's Cemetery near Moyers.

The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home in McDowell.
