James Hubert Hull, 66, of McDowell died Wednesday night, December 9, 1987 at the Veterans Hospital in Salem.
He was born July 21,1921 at Doe Hill, a son of Carrie Ella Simmons Hull of Staunton and William Harvey Hull. On March 9,1953 he married Adeline Armstrong of McDowell, who survives.
He was a member of Doe Hill United Methodist Church and the Highland Fiddle and Bow Club. He was a veteran of World War II.
In addition to his mother and widow, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Frances H. Hammer of McDowell; two sons, Steve W. Hull of McDowell and Gary Props! of Franklin, W. Va.; and six grandchildren.
A service was conducted 2 p.m. Saturday in the Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Bernard Skeens.
Burial was in the Doe Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Glenn Darnell, "Dennis Hull, William Huffman, Mark Ralston, Mike Jamison, Carrol Eckard, Leo McCray and Elmo Cobb.
Honorary pallbearers were Lester Botkin, John, Gene and Glen Hammer,, Mike and Delbert Armstrong, James Hull, Jake and Chris Simmons, Charles Hoover, Mack Ratcliffe, Maurice Casey, Homer Siron, Gary Thompson, Michael Green, Leonard Simmons and Jimmy Siron.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home or at the residence at any time.
Memorials may be made to the Highland Rescue Squad, in care of James Thompson, Monterey, Va.
