James Leonard Hupman

James Leonard Hupman, 63, of Mustoe died Friday evening, November 4, 1988 at his home.

He was born August 6, 1925 at Head Waters, a son of the late William Jessor and Annie Mae (Argenbright) Hupman.

Mr. Hupman was a member of the Southall Presbyterian Church. Prior to his illness, he was employed by Hooke Brothers Lumber Company for 40 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II and had served with the 90th Infantry Division in Europe and was a member of the Highland VFW Post 4989.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mildren Hupman of Mustoe; daughter Sueanne Hupman at home; three sons, James Andrew of Hightown, Charles B. and Jessor L. Hupman, both of Mustoe; a brother, Elmer L. Hupman of Williamsville; grandson James Michael Hupman of Hightown; and a nephew, Bobby Lee Hupman of Dante.

A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Ivan Young, with burial in Monterey Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be George, Wickie and Adolph Hooke, Joe Simmons, Stuart Hiner, Dennis Bradshaw, Everette Marshall, Roy Robertson and Delton Arbogast.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Ralson, Pete Hull, Jerry Hooke, Jack Botkin, Jimmy Lightner, Robert Lambert, Denny Hull, Norman Bell, Jimmy Corbett, Paul Doyle, Alfred Howdyshell and friends attending the service.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7:30-8:30 p.m.at the funeral home in McDowell.
