James “Jim” Harvey Pitsenbarger, 66, of Hot Springs passed away on Monday, July 8, 2024 at The Woodlands Health and Rehab Center in Clifton Forge.
He was born December 31, 1957 in Hightown, a son of the late Herbert Leo Pitsenbarger and Ina Lavelle (Warner) Pitsenbarger.
Jim was raised in Hightown United Methodist Church and was a graduate of Highland High School Class of 1976.
A simple and private person, Jim was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed time spent fishing and hunting. He also loved working in the hayfield for local farmers or helping his neighbors in general. Additionally, he enjoyed visiting flea markets, yard sales, and auctions, and he loved to play basketball and volleyball.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his longtime companion, Mary “Jackie” Raines; a nephew; and three great nieces.
He is survived by his brothers, Steve Pitsenbarger and wife, Theresa of Monterey, Mike Pitsenbarger of Powhatan, and Tom Pitsenbarger of McDowell; his sister, Cathy Ord and husband, Rick of Franklin, WV; his nieces and nephew, Alisha Botkin, Malorie Brower, Jenna Pitsenbarger, Hillary Fox and Shane Pitsenbarger; his great nieces and nephews, Aiden and Austin Botkin, Emma and Finley Brower, and Karson, Aryan, and Kadie Fox; as well as a very special friend, Ella.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, July 13, 2024 in Hightown Cemetery with Rev. Andre Crummett officiating.
Pallbearers will be family and friends in attendance.
