James "Jim" Jack

James “Jim” Ray Jack, 73, of Blue Grass, passed away Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012 at Kings Daughters Community Health and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born Feb. 17, 1938 in Blue Grass, a son of the late Robert Martin and Evelyn Kiser Jack.

He was a lifelong farmer, and had also worked as a bookkeeper, truck driver, and retired as a courier for Highland Data Services. He enjoyed sports, especially Cal Ripkin and Bill Elliott. He was happiest when outdoors working on his farm and the most important thing in his life was his family.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sara Dennison Jack; a son, Gary Jack; a daughter, Terri Jamison and husband, David; two grandsons, Brian Jamison and girlfriend Kelsey Simmons and Tyler Jamison and girlfriend Nicole Newcomb, all of Blue Grass; a brother, John W. Jack of Pendleton Manor, Franklin, W.Va.; several nieces and nephews; and special caregivers, Margaret Beverage and Dot Warner.

He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Martin Jack Jr.

A funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 8, at Blue Grass United Methodist Church by the Rev. Andre Crummett and the Rev. Richard Gibson.

Burial followed at the Jack Family Cemetery.

Pallbearers were C.W. Dennison III, Wilton Simmons, Bardon Warner, Harold Arbogast, Chris Swecker, David Kiser, Julian Folks and Everett Rexrode.
