Janet Burns

Janet Lowry Burns, 86, of 4575 Ridge Back Road, died Saturday, July 2, 2005.

She was born February 14, 1919, in Highland County, Va., a daughter of James A. and Viola Edman Lowry.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William McKeiffer Burns; four brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include her son, Delmas S. Lowry of Monterey, Va.; two daughters, Sylvia L. Burns of Staunton, Va. and Beverley B. Norman of Asheboro; two brothers, Bedford Lowry of Waynesboro, Va. and Leo Lowry of Churchville, Va.; and two sisters, Kathern Hise of Waynesboro and Mary Irene Hise of Monterey.

Visitation was held 1:20-2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Victory Chapel Advent Christian Church, followed by services at 3 p.m. at Blue Grass Cemetery.
