John Arthur Smith

John Arthur Smith, 57, of Staunton died Thursday, August 16, 1990 at University of Virginia Medical Center.

He was born June 8, 1933 at Doe Hill, a son of William Isaac and Catherine (Smith) Smith.

On February 5, 1966 he married Ruby Ann Floyd who survives.

He was a member of McKendree United Methodist Church. He had worked as a timber cutter and farmer in Highland County and had been a mechanic in Staunton for 20 years.

In addition to his widow, he is survived by two daughters, Katherine Ann Smith and Tina Mae Smith, both of Staunton; brother, Arlie Smith of Mendon, MI; and four grandchildren.

A service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. William Strickler, with burial in McKendree Cemetery,

Pallbearers will be Linwood Marshall, Archie Lynn, Harry L. Waugh, Carl Bosserman, Carl Halterman, and Bill Robertson.
