John David Hamilton

John David Hamilton, 73, passed away Thursday night, May 11, 1989 in Camelot Hall Nursing Home in Harrisonburg.

He was born April 25, 1916 at Mustoe, a son of Sidney and Viola (Griffin) Hamilton.

On November 14, 1946, he married Lona Mae Huffman of Monterey, who survives.

He attended Victory Chapel Advent Christian Church and was an Army veteran of World War II. Hamilton had worked for the Circle M Farm near Elkton for 30 years.

In addition to his widow, he is survived by a daughter, Patricia Cook of Mt. Solon; two sisters, Hattie Gum and Nellie Hull, both of Monterey; and three grandchildren.

Mrs. Hamilton was preceded in death by a daughter, Helen Huffman, who died June 13, 1976.

A service will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Robert Gue, with burial in Monterey Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Charlie, Jessor and Andy Hupman, JImmy Varner, Jack Warner, Buddy Hunt and Morgan Whitecotton.

The family will receive friend from 7-9 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home in McDowell.
