John Wilbur Moyers

John Wilbur Moyers, 73 of Hightown died Tuesday, November 24, 1987 at King's Daughters' Hospital. 

He was born January 15, 1914 at hightown, a son of Charles Wilbert and Maude (Simmons) Moyers.

He was a retired farmer and logger.

His wife, Cathleen Edith Moyers, died September 13, 1985.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Madeline Galford of Dunmore, WV and Mrs. Emogene Tidd of Monterey; two sons, Roscoe of Bartow, WV and Ronald Moyers of Hightown; one sister, Kathleen Hise of Hightown; one brother, Harry Moyers, of Monterey; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

A service will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell by the Rev. David B. Rittenhouse, with burial in Arbovale Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be V.W. Nesselrodt, Stuart Simmons, Ben Hite, Richard Hevener, Jerry Hevener and Ross Hefner.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home in McDowell.
