John "Skip" Gerfin

John “Skip” Gordon Gerfin, 50, affectionately known as the Hippie of Middle Mountain, died Wednesday, June 25, 2003 in Dyer County, Tenn.

He was born May 15, 1953 in Bryn Mawr, Pa., a son of Jean Thomas Gerfin and the late John L. Gerfin.

He is survived by his mother, Jean T. Gerfin of Falmouth, Maine; two sisters, Judith Gerfin of Biddeford, Maine and Allison Gerfin of Bangor, Maine.

A graveside service was conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 3 at Union Chapel Cemetery by the Rev. Andre Crummett.
