Josephine E. Ervine

Josephine E. Ervine, 94, of Fort Valley died Saturday evening, September 5, 1987 in Shenandoah County Memorial Hospital, Woodstock.

She was born April 16, 1893 at McDowell, a daughter of Joseph Henry and Estelle (Wilson) Hiner.

Her husband, Sidney Clyde Ervine, died December 7, 1931.

She was a member of Cherrydale United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Gladys E. Hogshead of Fort Valley and Thelma MCNulty of Edgewater, Md.; son, Joseph H. Ervin of Fort Valley; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Obaugh Funeral Home, McDowell, by the Rev. Larry Roth, with burial in McKendree Cemetery near McDowell.

Pallbearers will be Billy and Jimmy Hiner, Ray and Ronnie Bowman and Mike and Steve Fox.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.

The family will receive friends one hour prior before the service at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Woodstock Rescue Squad, Woodstock, Va. 24484, or to a favorite charity.
